We are honored to be the florist chosen by the Cincinnati Opera to create the main entrance hall centerpieces for the 2011 Opera Season. Operas are intrinsically moving works of art that stay with the audience for a lifetime. We wanted our arrangement to capture the magnanimity of Opera.

Using the Opera’s promotional art work as inspiration, we designed and erected stunning displays of art in flowers. Above are photos showing “Team Eden” constructing the floral designs for Eugene Onegin and A Flowering Tree. The art work was created by created by Aimee Sposito Martini.

For the Eugene Onegin floral design, we were inspired by the Opera’s setting. This Russian classic-literature-turned-opera conjures images of the frosty Russian landscape. We used white hydrangea, white roses, white lilies, glittery white branches, and mirrored vases to evoke images of ice and snow.

Based on an Indian folktale, A Flowering Tree creates nearly the opposite image. This Opera tells the heartbreaking story of a woman who magically becomes a flowering tree to save her poor family and find true love. We wired green, purple, and yellow cymbidium orchids to branches and placed them in a vintage urn carved in the likeness of a woman to recreate the woman in Adams’ opera. We completed the centerpiece with mounds of red carnations and skirted the arrangement in wheat grass covered with orchids.

We truly enjoy being a part of Cincinnati’s vibrant art scene, and loved the challenge and creative opportunity the Opera presented us with this project.

Claire is absolutely adorable. She was one the sweetest and happiest brides we have had the joy to work with. Claire’s personal style is naturally pretty and romantic, and her wedding flowers reflect that classic elegance. No detail was overlooked, and Claire really took advantages of using all of the little details to define her beautiful wedding style.

Claire and Michael were married at Saint Xavier Church. Her bridal bouquet was created with pale pink peonies and soft pink roses with white hydrangea and mini calla lilies. Her bridesmaids carried equally romantic bouquets with slightly more vibrant colors. Hot pink roses and pink hydrangeas were wrapped in hot pink silk ribbon to create the bridesmaids bouquets. Michael wore a white mini calla lilly boutonniere, and his groomsmen complimented the bridesmaids’ bouquets with bright pink mini calla lily boutonnieres.

The elegant reception was held at the Madison Event Center. We designed two centerpieces pink and white hydrangea and pink roses in a glass square container. A hot pink ribbon sealed with the couple’s monogram completed the centerpiece. We scattered hot pink rose petals over the head table for added detail.

Different wedding details are important to each individual bride, but some features do create a lasting impression. For MSN living, Anja Winikka created a list of splurges worth the money.

The list of nine elements includes Lighting, Ceremony Decor, Entryway, Photo Booth, Lounge Area, Welcome Bags, Special Entertainment, Late Night Snacks, Draping.

Winikka writes that when it comes to ceremony decor, “First impressions matter. A personalized ceremony space will make your guests feel at home immediately. If you’re having an outdoor summer wedding, hang orchid leis, colorful ribbon streamers or sun-catching glass ornaments on surrounding trees. For church nuptials, have your florist create arrangements for the pews as well as the door.”

We can’t agree more. Furthermore, these details do not need to add huge dollars to your budget. The ceremony flowers can be repurposed at the reception. Large alter pieces can be placed at the doorway of the reception all for stunning entrance. smaller pew arrangements can be used at the place card and gift tables, or they could glam up a bathroom.

If your budget allows room for even more ceremony decor, Anja suggests a floral covered canopy and hanging votive candles for a stunning focal point. It will definitely make your wedding a stunning event to remember. Another bonus: a floral canopy is an ideal background for your wedding photos.

Ashley is a perfect blend of fun, funky, and elegant. We loved working with her and every time we met was a pleasure. It is no wonder her wedding can be summarized with one word – Wow!

This beautiful bride loves purple so we incorporated deep purple flowers in every element. Her bridal bouquet was entirely purple calla lilies with an ivory ribbon wrap. For her bridesmaids, we found picasso callas that perfectly complemented their plum gowns without getting lost. We wrapped the unique purple and white callas in a black ribbon, leaving the stems exposed.

We wired white mini orchards for hair pins adding to the elegant part of Ashley’s style. Justin wore a deep purple calls boutonier to match her bridal bouquet, and his groomsmen’s picaso calla boutonier paired with the bridemaids’ flowers.

The ceremony and reception were both held at the Hilton Netherlands Hall of Mirrors. Ashley slipped on a purple pair of converse to enjoy the party! Impressive arrangements adorned every table to reflect the majestic Hall of Mirrors. We created two different styles of centerpieces. The first was a tall candelabra with purple hydrangea, blue hydrangea, purple roses, purple kale, purple stock and green cymbidium orchids. For variety, we created a second style using a glowing lantern surrounded in a ring of purple hydrangea and purple roses.

Peggy and Robert were married at Saint Stephens Church, and the reception was celebrated at The Plantation Twin Oaks. Her bridal bouquet was designed with hot pink roses, white hydrangea, fuchsia peonies, hot pink mini gerberas, and green berries with ivory ribbon wrap. The bright and cheerful color pallet was perfect for the mood of the day.

The bridesmaid also carried colorful bouquets. They were made with hydrangea, roses, and gerbera daises. We wrapped the bridesmaids bouquets in a bright kiwi green ribbon. The flower girls carried ivory baskets with hot pink gerbera daisies. The boutonnieres were hot pink roses with an accent of green berries.

Stephanie had a beautiful summer wedding at Hyde Park Methodist Church. We loved working with her and her mom. They were both darling. We love to see a mom and daughter team work so well together. Stephanie was one of the happiest brides, so creating her wedding flowers was pure joy for us.

Stephanie wanted the classic, romantic bridal bouquet, with a touch of sparkle. We used all white calla lilies, hydrangeas and roses to create the beautiful, elegant bouquet, and used a rhinestone bandline to add the touch of modern fun Stephanie envisioned. Her bridesmaids carried large bouquets of white hydrangea with purple calla lilies. The touch of purple added a big pop of color that nicely complimented their plum bridesmaids gowns.

At Drees Pavilion, the reception was all glitz and style. It can be difficult to pull off glam and class, but Stephanie did it flawlessly. Eden Floral Boutique added to the ambiance by creating wedding centerpieces of white hydrangeas in square vases. We used pomegranate lux ribbon and silver rhinestone banding to amplify the mood.
